Marvela Ester Kurniawan is another BINUSIAN who kicked start her last year in school with an overseas summit. She attended the Asian and Oceanian High School Students’ Forum 2016 in Wakayama, Japan, as the sole participant from Indonesia.
The Asian and Oceanian High School Students’ Forum 2016 was held from July 28th – August 3rd2016. High school students from various Asian and Oceanian countries met up to discuss various global issues, such as disaster management and environmental issues. As the highest achiever among ICT Sociology students in BINUS SCHOOL Serpong, Marvela presented about disaster prevention in this forum.
In the Asian and Oceanian High School Students’ Forum 2016, the participants had the opportunity to stay in the locals’ house to experience the true Japanese culture. The summit advocates for a sustainability of an international society relying on our young leaders. Therefore, strong understanding of different cultures and friendships among them are vital to such.
What a great start for BINUS SCHOOL Serpong for this new academic year! Our BINUSIANS have been so active to attend various international events and meet many young leaders from around the world. It seems that a lesson from Larry Bird sticks well to our BINUSIANS, “I’ve got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.”
