Aspires to get the internationalization and increase both local and international competitiveness,BINUS NORTHUMBRIA SCHOOL OF DESIGN (BNSD) aims to support Indonesian value trough their Fashion Students in the real industry. With the optimism that the graduates could promote local culture with their ready to wear collections, BNSD takes part in Jakarta Fashion Week 2016. We hope that we could accomplish our vision.
THE PAST MODERN, Voyage to Flores, is the theme for the collections this year. The twist of heritage and tradition merged with culture elements from East Timor into a new form of design without losing its feature. To fulfill that purpose, BNSD held 4 days research trip for several students where they developed the understanding about legacy & culture in Flores as well as to have opportunity to have direct interaction with local tenun craftsmen. These selected students will prepare the fabrics and garment collection and gain more knowledge by visiting some traditional woven villages Flores, while others took East Timor landscape and its beautiful creature as the inspiration for design. This will be a pilot project, to enhance classroom material and push it further as a real project to participate and show 10 students collection from BNSD andNorthumbria University for Jakarta Fashion Week 2016.

Fashion Design and Fashion Management at BINUS NORTHUMBRIA SCHOOL OF DESIGN (BNSD), The four-year and dual degree program with Northumbria University – UK, serve the needs to expand the workplace globally. Graduates are responsive to the dynamic market of ready to wear; women’s wear, men’s wear and children’s wear. In addition, graduates are equipped with knowledge of trend forecast in order to shape the vision; communicationskills to transform a set of meaning to the end user and production experience to meet industrial requirements. During their study, there will be one dedicated semester focus on Internship, which prepares the graduates as fashion professionals.
